Fluid Technologies offers a diverse specialty chemical portfolio with a history of exceptional growth. Even still, there is untapped growth potential to further deliver value to our customers. The Technical Marketing Specialist is a new role that will work with our customers, and our Sales and Marketing team to expand into adjacent fields by identifying unique and unmet customer needs and providing solutions. 

 

The successful candidate will have a chemical or technical background and a passion for translating customer and technical insights into scalable market expansion opportunities.
 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Deeply understand customers’ unmet needs and the value our products deliver in adjacent fields and assess the commercial scalability within those markets. Example application areas include lithium battery technology, smart-textiles, medical diagnostic technology, chemical manufacturing, and water treatment, to name a few.
  • Lead cross functional teams made up of Marketing, Sales, and Applied Technology, to prioritize and develop business cases, and ‘go to market’ strategies for selected market development areas, including Voice of Customer research, Product-Market fit, and market attractiveness analysis (SWOT, Porters Five Forces, PESTLE etc).
  • Support the efforts of the sales team by helping to prioritize opportunities and identify/eliminate hurdles for the segment by participating and contributing to team meetings/calls, focused customer visits, and monthly reporting.
  • Interact with the Interface & Performance New Markets team to identify and explore technologies with further synergy potential from a business line or divisional perspective. 
  • Potential travel of 25% involving customer visits, trainings, and trade shows and internal meetings.
 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelors Degree in Chemical Engineering/Chemistry.  Masters or MBA preferred
  • 3-5 years of experience in Business to Business market facing roles (Sales, Market Development, Technical Customer Support)
  • 2+ years of technical lab experience in the chemical industry or related, experience with surfactants is a plus
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Highly motivated, results driven individual with strong business acumen
