RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The ideal candidate will have experience with order entry and order management for manufactured goods using an integrated ERP system such as SAP. Ability to handle complex orders (multiple products, points of origin, delivery dates, etc) is a plus. Strong task management, prioritizing and problem solving skills required. 
  • Provide Customer Service - Accepting and amending all orders. Maintenance of databases including successfully entering orders in SAP. Daily review of open orders report to ensure customer requirements, deliveries and specifications are met. Customer relations including problem resolution by phone or in person and new customer processing. Enter any related customer complaints into SAP. May include order entry for international orders and third party orders.
  • Provide backup to other customer service representatives for vacation and/or sick time coverage.
  • Additional duties, if assigned, can include maintaining inventory at consignment customers, creation of credit and debit memos, and invoice processing. 
  • General Administrative Support - maintain customer files. Assist sales and marketing with business data as required.
  • Participate in department work groups as assigned to help improve customer service processes and interactions with other departments.
  • Provide assistance in training new CSRs.
 

REQUIREMENTS

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and 2-3 years experience in a Chemical Company; or Associates Degree or Training Certification in related area plus 1-2 years experience in a Chemical Company. 
  • Experience in the field or in a related area, preferably in the customer service business and chemical company area.  Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within this field. Works from established guidelines and procedures under general supervision. 
  • Understanding logistics/Operations and impact of fulfilling customer's order. Must have high level of interpersonal skills. Must have strong negotiation skills, problem solving skills, demonstrated oral and written communication skills; demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment, ability to work independently and as a team member.
  • Knowledge of printers, faxes and general office equipment necessary.
  • Working knowledge of SAP, Excel, Word and Outlook.
