Position Overview:


We are seeking an innovative, self starter to join our team within the Resource Efficiency segment. The principal accountabilities of the position will support the Applied Technology group and specifically our SIPERNAT® and AEROSIL® silica products in developing new formulations with our customers.

These products are widely used in many areas in the Chemical industry.  They are used to improve the range of creativity for the Formulation Scientist.  They improve product quality, extend shelf-life, reduce production cost, improve delivery and efficacy of active ingredients, and change rheology.

Principal Accountabilities: 


Plan, perform and document laboratory work in a professional manner using lab notebooks, databases, and other programs.

Learn a variety of test and processing methods to make appropriate formulations and scientific conclusions.

Write reports and presentations to communicate your results internally and at conferences.



Candidate Qualifications and Experience:


This is a one year commitment renewable for one year.  This can be filled by a part time junior or senior undergraduate but a MS student is preferred.  This can also be filled as a PhD postdoc.  We prefer the ability to work full time hours with some flexibility for classwork during the school year and full time in the summer.  We are looking for a junior or senior Chemistry or Chemical Engineering major, recent graduate, MS student or PhD postdoc.  Relevant course work:  organic and inorganic chemistry, biology, biochemistry, physics and labs.  If a graduate student knowledge of relevant instrumentation.  Work experience, interest in formulation and physical testing, independent research experience and knowledge of homecare and agriculture products a plus.   Good oral, written, presentation and computer skills a must.
