This position will provide process controls support for the Pasadena, TX plant.  The main responsibility will be to provide technical expertise for maintaining and/or modifying plant instrumentation and batch process control programs.  The process controls engineer will be a key member of the plant support team and can expect to work very closely with plant operations, productions engineers and process engineers on a daily basis.



  • Provide the Pasadena plant with technical automation expertise in support of day-to-day troubleshooting, small capital project implementation, optimization and validation work.
  • Individual will be the main contact for process control system troubleshooting efforts in response to plant findings.  Process controls engineer will be expected to coordinate with plant engineering and/or maintenance as needed to effectively resolve control system issues.
  • Day-to day support expectation includes alarm management/improvement, generating reports, running backups, maintaining bypass logs and supporting the e-MOC process.
  • The process controls engineer will support all DCS programing and configuration issues related to the implementation of small capital projects.  This includes recipe design, programing and follow-up commissioning work for new equipment.  Assisting in the definition of overall capital project scope to ensure effective implementation is also expected.
  • Individual will be expected to support plant wide productivity & optimization work.  Responsibility here involves working directly with plant engineering and/or maintenance as required on plant performance improvement projects ensuring needs are met as related to the site’s process controls system.
  • Support the introduction of new products/trial manufacturing runs.
  • Ensure system compliance with appropriate standards.


  • BS or MS degree in engineering and a minimum of 3-5 years of process controls experience.
  • Comfortable working in a plant environment.  Position requires working on the plant floor directly with plant engineers, operations and maintenance staff on a regular basis
  • A high level of initiative and self-starting skills
  • Strong leadership and teamwork skill with a results oriented commitment
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
