To provide global direction & management of the Oral Care product management as well as the Fumed Silica requirements for the Americas production Landscape.     The position would ensure that new and changing market and technology trends are recognized at an early stage to continuously develop the product portfolio, including product packaging. That sales are boosted through target group-focused pricing. That the product yield is maximized in a sustained manner with consideration of all relevant impacting factors. To support net OEE improvement at any plants with smart debottlenecking i.e. that existing production capacities are used optimally and that volumes to be produced are covered as well as possible with the existing demand. That the total production network is steered in the most profitable way (incl. stocks, together with SCM). Analyse the competitive advantage of our competitors as it relates to production & costing and to manage the process of in /out flows of competitor materials.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Asset driven tasks
    • Maximize global product yields by initiating and implementing suitable actions for Global OC and regional requirements for Fumed Silica in the Americas
    • Monitor optimum utilization of existing production capacities in agreement with Supply Chain
    • Management and preparation of strategic decisions for investments and divestments, including assessing the economic effects (develop/maintain a market model (demand/supply))
    • Actively compile, manage & communicate competitive intelligence as it relates to Production capabilities, methods, locations, utilization rates, expansion/divestments, cost advantages/curve analysis and backward/forward integration attributes as it relates to production /product in order to present a consistent and global, over all industries consolidated view of the capabilities of our competition
  • Pricing driven tasks
    • Monitor price developments for OC globally and for the Americas for Fumed in coordination with Marketing
    • Preparation of price corridors, based on the EPTB analysis (regions and industry segments) 
    • Global responsibility for earnings for the supported products via delegation by the PL Head
  • Product and Quality driven tasks:
    • Maintenance (expansion, adjustment, optimization) and development of the global product range, including product packaging and regionally for Fumed Silica
    • Handle complaints and initiate corrective actions
    • Accountable for the process “management of customer special requirements” (the decision to fulfill customer special requirements (product and service related) 
    • Accountable for the process “approval management” ( PM seeks for approvals and maintains the approval list (customer -to- plant allocation). Collaboration with Sales, Marketing and QM. SCM uses the approval list in monthly S&OP for optimized network utilization.  
  • Business and Supply chain driven tasks:
    • Support of Product-related global sales planning in cooperation with Sales, Industry Segment Marketing and SCM
    • Participation to regional S&OP
    • Allocation management, coordination of allocations with the regions or sales
  • Carry out the delegated tasks within the scope of ESHQ, product stewardship, and product safety for the assigned products
  • Support special projects as needed
     
 

REQUIREMENTS

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in Product Management, Supply Chain, or Marketing
  • Bachelor's Degree (Chemical Engineering preferred)
  • Chemical industry experience 
  • Ability to work independantly and collaborate globally
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong computer skills
  • MBA would be preferred but not required
  • Project management experience preferred
  • Ability to speak multiple languages would be an asset but not required
  • SAP experience preferred
