This position is within the Nutrition and Care segment and has responsibility at the Milton site maintenance which is a multi-user site mainly focused on the practice of alkoxylation, quaternization and hydrogenation based process technologies.  The position is responsible for the maintenance department to provide leadership and support of the group and ensure reliability and availability of plant equipment in a cost-effective manner to meet the needs of production.  The position is responsible for and directs the Milton site on preventive, corrective and compliance maintenance activities, equipment reliability assurance, mechanical integrity programs and EHSQ compliance on critical safety devices, executes against safety and general work permit operations including EHSQ, Production, Maintenance and Logistics.  Position is also responsible for small investment/CAPEX projects for the site (≤ $100,000) as delegated by Engineering Manager.  This position is responsible for organizational development and training to corporate and segment policies within the ERP system and is an active leader for the site leadership across all functions.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

Preventative, corrective and compliance maintenance

  • Manage preventative maintenance for all equipment on site and set up plans for new equipment and regulations.
  • Perform and/or coordinate preventative maintenance on equipment per required schedules and procedures.
  • Ensure tanks, pressure vessels and other equipment are inspected per regulatory requirements.
  • Contractor Management policy compliance.
  • Ensure environmental compliance is maintained.
  • Prepare reports and maintain records as needed to comply with EHSQ Systems.
  • Ensure environmental control systems are operating per regulatory compliance.

Site Equipment Reliability & Work Permit Execution

  • Provide technical support for maintenance.
  • Coordinate work for the maintenance department.
  • Schedule the completion of maintenance work orders.
  • Assist with safe work permits as required to perform maintenance and ensure contractor work is completed safely.
  • Order maintenance parts and supplies maintain critical spare parts within SAP system.
  • Negotiate with contractors for site services and manage service contracts for the site.
  • Oversight of equipment calibration as required by schedules and procedures consistent with quality procedures.
  • Oversight of installation and maintenance of equipment consistent with safety and quality.
  • Ensures critical safety devices and systems are maintained and tested per RAGAGEP’s and regulating agencies.

Development and Execution of CAPEX Projects

  • Planning and installation of new equipment.
  • Development, planning and execution on functional engineering of new projects.
  • Contractor management of CAPEX projects and interface with PT/E owned projects.
  • Development of new procedures for new equipment installations and maintenance of existing equipment changes through MOC process.

Maintenance Organizational Development

  • Hiring and training of mechanical and I&E technicians in job skill development, ERP management and general work process adherence.
  • Development of SAP Maintenance Power Users within organization.
  • Cross training of personnel in different mechanical skills sets within the site.
  • General management of team with PTO, policy compliance and HR related activities.

Decision-Making

  • All decisions related to daily maintenance of the site aligned with Engineering Manager and Site Manager.
  • Preparation and submission for all budgetary and maintenance reporting to senior leadership for the site in cooperation with Operations Management and Site Manager.
  • Assignment/lower level discipline of hourly and salary workforce in cooperation with HR.  Higher level employee disciplinary action such as final warnings with HR and SMT.
  • Workforce scheduling, hire selection, and employee progression in career.
     
 

REQUIREMENTS

  • MS in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering with 3 years’ experience in a maintenance leadership role or maintenance environment, a BS in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering with 5 years’ experience in a maintenance leadership role or maintenance environment, or 10 years’ experience in a maintenance leadership role or maintenance environment preferably in the chemical process industry.
  • Excellent presentation, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to demonstrate teamwork and team building skills.
  • Ability to lead, drive projects and other opportunities.
  • Ability to lead and participate in RCA and FMEA.
  • Superior interpersonal skills and ability to work across cultural boundaries and be able to communicate effectively with individuals from a broad range of diverse backgrounds and experience.
  • Demonstrate the ability to motivate a team and foster a positive work environment characterized by an atmosphere of mutual respect, trust, accountability and open communication.
  • Computer literate.
  • Strong working knowledge of SAP or CMMS and PSM.
  • ISO 9001 and RC 14001 understanding a plus.
  • Mechanical Integrity (API, STI, UL, BPVC, ASME, NFPA, NEC) experience desired.
