The Demand Manager is responsible for providing a demand outlook for the next months, resulting in production volumes to be fulfilled by the operations team as well as in raw material requirements to be covered by procurement. This person will manage the inventory of final products and intermediates to be supplied to other Evonik production sites and ensures the in-time availability of the demand in time.  They will manage the capacity planning for short-term and midterm planning, and provide demand outlooks to procurement, logistics and production for ensuring a smooth Supply Chain.  The Demand Manager is the owner of the planning processes and tools for demand and supply planning at the site and supports therefore global and regional projects to optimize the planning activities, and supports the Supply Chain Manager of the site in the Sales and Operation Planning process by e.g. prioritizing products and customer order and by taking over reporting activities. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Planning Responsibility:

 

  • Responsible for the master planning and provides a consolidated demand outlook to production, logistics and procurement by considering production and raw material supply circumstances, inventory levels and strategic decisions. 
  • Manages the capacity planning and midterm planning for the plant. 
  • Ensures usage of standard processes and tools for the short term and midterm planning and supports the optimization of the processes and procedures. Responsible for the usage of correct supply chain master data.
  • Optimizes and monitors inventory levels to fulfill the demand by analyzing inventory metrics and setting target levels.

 

 

Supply and Demand Management:

 

  • Manages the day-to-day business requests and requirements from different departments such as Sales, Marketing, Production, Logistics, Procurement and Customer Service.
  • Handles product shortages and manages day to day allocation of products or capacity.

 

 

Supply Chain Improvement and Reporting:

 

  • Supports global and regional planning as well as SAP projects to ensure an optimized planning processes.
  • Reports Supply Chain KPIs and makes recommendations to improve productivity, cost, quality and efficiency of operations.
  • Supports product introductions and transfers to and from other sites as well as complexity reductions.
 

REQUIREMENTS

  • 5 years experience in supply chain is preferred

  • Bachelors degree highly preferred

  • Excellent interpersonal, analytical, computer, and communication skills. Strong ability to effectively manage/coordinate multiple tasks under time pressure. Able to work efficiently in multicultural environment. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of changing situations

  • Strong computer skills with a focus on MS Office (especially Excel), SAP ERP (e.g. Materials Requirements Planning, Material Management, SD); SAP APO DP/SNP and Business Warehouse is required
