Elimination of repetitive equipment failure by identifying root causes and providing engineering solutions.  These solutions are provided through redesign, predictive and preventive maintenance, and application of good engineering practices in an effort to reduce overall costs and provide maximum equipment availability.  Support of daily maintenance operations through troubleshooting, equipment and parts research, analysis and improvement of spare parts inventories, and equipment assessment is also key.  Assume leadership of Emergency Failures so that Maintenance Planning can stay on schedule.  Be contact for facility Contractors (i.e. HVAC, Hoist, Elevators, Roof, Grounds, Roads).  Fill in for Maintenance Planner/Supervisor.  Support RCA and RBM efforts. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assume leadership of Emergency Equipment Failures.  Coordinate needed resources to minimize the process downtime, allowing the planning process to remain on schedule. 
  • Work with maintenance and engineering to provide engineered solutions aimed at reducing maintenance costs and increasing equipment availability.   
  • Support implementation of RBM/RCM and RCA recommendations. 
  • Manage/support capital and expense projects for the purpose of improving safety, quality, efficiency or capacity of process equipment. 
  • Manage Facility contractors used within the plant including for maintenance projects. Manage proper storage and disposal of hazardous waste related to maintenance activities. 

 

 

REQUIREMENTS

 

  • Education:  Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Chemical or Mechanical) preferred; associates would be sufficient as well.  
  • Candidate must have experience working (or interning) within an process manufacturing environment 
  • Mechanical competency in plant maintenance and operations strongly preferred (Working with equipment such as rotative machinery, compressors, pumps, agitators and valves 
  • Experience in control/electrical engineering strongly preferred 
  • Candidate must be a team player and have the ability to work well with others 
  • Candidate must be a strong and efficient communicator.  
  • Equipment/Software:  General computer competency, SAP experience a plus
