Perform all tasks and duties necessary to support site service Environmental Controls operations. This responsibility includes three chemical pretreatment lift stations, chemical waste water treatment system, Fermentation waste water treatment system, two fume incineration units, two sludge dewatering units, seepage collection wells, the domestic waste collection and treatment system, all storm and process sewers, and the foul air collection system in a safe, efficient and environmentally responsible manner. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

In addition to Operator 21N, Operator 22N, and Operator 23N job functions:
•    Establishes/uses data obtained from ELADIN to improve performance 
•    Be considered an SME (subject matter expert)
•    Influences change for improvement amongst peers
•    Demonstrates ability to differentiate between critical and non critical issues
•    Works with technical support personnel to suggest, implement, and communicate improvements to processes, job aids, manuals, and templates
•    Pro-actively communicates with internal customers and provides them with necessary support
•    Maintains current understanding of regulations, and guidelines within area of responsibility
•    Proactively searches for ways to apply knowledge in other areas of the plant
•    Positively supports implementation of policies and procedures
•    Demonstrates successful performance of all technical procedures within area of responsibility
•    Drives improvement to yield, or reduction in cost and waste minimization
•    Is a trainer/mentor for other operators
•    Collaborate effectively with people within and outside of area to achieve common goals    
•    Understands others priorities and reprioritizes own work when appropriate

Quality
Each individual is responsible to meet fundamental cGMP requirements relating to their conduct and work practices to ensure the SISPQ (Safety, Identity, Strength, Purity, and Quality) of the products manufactured at Evonik Tippecanoe Laboratories.  
This includes but is not limited to the following:
•    Adherence to all written instructions.
•    Timely reporting of all deviations to supervision.
•    Training on each activity is completed and current and that each employee understands their assigned duties.
•    Strict documentation practices are followed to ensure that all steps of the operation are appropriately documented.
•    Ensure to maintain the work area in a state of cleanliness and sanitation through good housekeeping practices and applying good personal health practices.
•    Ensure the security and safety of the product through the reporting of any potential risk to supervision immediately.
•    Ensure the safety of the personnel and product by wearing proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) according to the operation being executed.
•    Each individual should report any action that they believe could impact the SISPQ of any product immediately to supervision.

 

Environmental, Safety, Health, & Security (ESHS)
•    Adhere to ESHS programs, rules, & procedures.
•    Assume personal accountability for individual behaviors related to ESHS activities.
•    Have the appropriate knowledge and tools prior to performing a task.
•    Complete all required ESHS training and remain current with applicable learning plans at all times.
•    Report all injuries to Employee Health Services or Security and supervision within the same shift of the incident occurring.
•    Inform direct supervision of any ESHS hazards or concerns in the workplace.
•    Provide feedback and coaching to coworkers on both safe and unsafe behaviors and conditions.
•    Actively participate in the ESHS management system as directed by supervision.
 

 

 

REQUIREMENTS

 

Physical Requirements 

•    Ability to coach, lead, and provide feedback to employees effectively
•    Ability to set an example as a leader
•    7 years previous chemical manufacturing or solvent recovery experience is preferred
•    High School diploma or equivalent
•    Achieve and maintain an Indiana class "B" wastewater certification.
•    Have existing class "II" wastewater certification.


Working Conditions 
•    Hazardous conditions involving the use of acids, caustics, other hazardous chemicals, and potential allergens
•    Must be able to work 12 hour shifts, day or night, including rotational scheduling
