The Plant Engineer provides direction and monitoring of maintenance activities and small capital projects within his/her assigned building(s) and/or areas.  S/he works independently to provide engineering support to the production plant.  S/he will be responsible for defining, organizing, planning, and executing all small capital investment projects to be cost effective, timely, and safe.



  • Provide technical expertise/services and small capital project delivery for assigned customers.
  • Coordinate small capital and technical change projects through design, construction, commissioning, qualification, and start-up.  May include developing scopes, managing change controls, and generating/executing system qualification packages.
  • Makes, manages, and strongly influences key decisions related to time, schedule, costs, quality, and operability.
  • Develops maintenance strategy.
  • Maintenance budget planning, supervision, and control.


  • BS in Engineering + significant industrial/technical experience
  • Knowledge of plant design, production, project management, maintenance management, policies, and standards.
  • Technical, analytical, and problem solving skills.
  • Able to overcome challenges and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Good computer skills (MS Office, SAP/ERP systems)
  • Able to manage budgets of up to $3 million per year
  • Experience with chemical or pharmaceutical processing equipment or unit operations
