This position is part of a multi-skilled team working in the central maintenance area. This role will perform a variety of capital, maintenance work, and preventative maintenance work to promote maximum up-time and reliability, including speed to market compounds.
 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintenance: 


•    Perform all duties in accordance with all applicable regulations and company policies (e.g., Quality, Safety, Environmental)
•    Pipefitting skills such as layout, fabrication, pipe threading, plumbing, etc.
•    Advanced skills such as pressure testing filers and SME on use of Engineering piping guidelines
•    Maintain and repair existing piping and equipment systems, such as process (product and solvent) and utilities piping
•    Install piping systems including Teflon lined, black iron, stainless stell, etc. 
•    Supporting piping needs for process changeovers and glass-lined equipment repairs
•    Troubleshoot problems on existing piping and systems and make repairs for longevity 
•    Document work performed in the CMMS, including history notes, time charges and parts procurement, advanced SAP skills, include planning, scheduling and job plan searches 
•    Reviewing and redlining draft MPR’s, SOP’s, training. 
•    May require welder work for tank repairs internal and external
•    May require welding repairs on pressure vessels
•    May require welding certificate 
•    Provide job knowledge and skills for process improvements and special projects
•    Work with a variety of individuals, such as engineers, other craftspeople, production personnel and other resources on process upgrades and equipment changes
•    Become multi-skilled by acquiring basic carpenter/millwright and machinist skills
•    Make appropriate suggestions for PM procedure revisions.
•    Follow all GMP/CDI/MI, Safety, and Environmental Guidelines
•    Maintain 100% current on individual training plan
•    Accurately document and update CMMS daily
•    Actively participate in safety initiatives
•    Identify improvement opportunities
•    Follow all site and departmental safety policies and procedures
•    Participate in crew safety meeting


Quality- Each individual is responsible to meet fundamental cGMP requirements relating to their conduct and work practices to ensure the SISPQ(Safety, Identity, Strength, Purity, Quality) of the products manufactured at Evonik Tippecanoe Laboratories. This includes but is not limited to the following: 


•    Adherence to all written instructions
•    Timely reporting of all deviations to supervision
•    Training on each activity is completed and current and that each employee understands their assigned duties
•    Strict documentation practices are followed to ensure that all steps of the operation are appropriately documented
•    Ensure to maintain the work area in state of cleanliness and sanitation through good housekeeping practices and applying good personal health practices.
•    Ensure the security and safety of the product through the reporting of any potential risk to supervision immediately
•    Ensure the safety of the personnel and product by wearing proper PPE according to the operation being executed
•    Each individual should report any action that they believe could impact the SISPQ of any product immediately to supervision


Physical Requirements:


•    May be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE)
•    Able to ascend/descend stairs/ladders
•    May be required to enter confined space
•    May be required to work in high noise/high temperature environment 
•    May be required to work outside in an uncontrolled environment 
•    May be required to operate motorized vehicles
•    Ability to lift up to 50lbs without assistance
•    Ability to operate shop, powered equipment 

 

 

REQUIREMENTS

 

Required: 


•    High School Diploma or Equivalent 
•    3-5 years working as a pipefitter/welder within an industrial environment
•    Ability to work 12 hour shifts, overnight, consistently
•    Ability to enter confined space and complete tasks
•    Ability to navigate computer systems
•    Demonstrated experience following safety guidelines and procedures


Preferred: 
•    Formal training regarding pipefitting/welding trades, etc. 
•    Ability to perform MIG/TIG/STICK process welding to maintain tank integrity 
•    Familiarity with SAP
