The position will be responsible for growing Evonik Animal Nutrition’s (AN) North American business in the precision livestock farming (PLF) segment. This includes coordination of business activities regarding the PLF portfolio, including execution and coordination of sales, competitor intelligence, regional marketing, technical sales activities, and communication with relevant colleagues in the business line’s headquarters and the region and translating global PLF business strategies into regional strategies for business growth.  

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Sales Excellence / IMPAX - Understanding customer’s commercial and technical needs and opportunities (research, communicate, present), including professional interaction with all levels of management both within Evonik and at customers.
  • Position Evonik Animal Nutrition as a strategic player in this segment. Build relationship with digital ag community and industry consultants in this field.  
  • Cooperate with global expert teams in Headquarters to develop, improve and establish strategies and tools for regional as well as global business.
  • Responsible for driving commercial and technical activities, including lead generation, and converting them into successful customer business.
  • Develop and implement plans for focus customers, including the coordination of competences as needed.
  • Marketing – In conjunction with Regional and Global Marketing and technical colleagues, initiate marketing and technical activities in promoting Evonik’s PLF at important industry events such as trade shows, digital ag conferences and workshops. 
  • Study and understand the PLF markets, competitors and propose strategies that are in line with the market development and with Evonik’s profit targets. Provide accurate and reliable monthly market information, as well as annual forecasts for customer demand.  
  • Compliance - Establish and maintain Evonik’s leading position in the market by conducting business according to Evonik Vision/Mission and corporate compliance standards.
  • Travel - Reading, understanding, and complying with all Evonik travel and expense policies.
  • Safety – Responsible and accountable for maintaining safe work activities, in accordance with Evonik’s policies. 
 

REQUIREMENTS

  • BSc or MSc in Animal Science with strong background in Agriculture Engineering or Data Science. 
  • 3-5 years of sales experience in the poultry industry or first-hand experience with PLF systems in the poultry industry. Strong understanding of poultry production processes, meat and eggs.
  • Proven track record of commercial business development. 
  • Experience related to sales of PLF related systems. 
  • Understand the added value of digital solutions to support poultry production.
  • Ability to translate the specific digital needs of poultry producers into (creative)  sales arguments based on a sound technical understanding as well as strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Distinct willingness to create and develop, capability to motivate and encourage specifically distributors and internal colleagues. 
  • A good command of English. 
  • Experience in negotiation, problem solving and conflict management.
  • 25-50% Travel.
