  • Functional leadership of the Advanced Food Ingredients team and responsibility to manage within the matrix a global and cross-functional team (e.g. sales, business development, regulatory affairs, R&D)
  • Portfolio strategy of the business segment, profitability analysis, initiation of new product developments, marketing activities and product launches
  • Accountability for the Evonik Growth Field “Advanced Food Ingredients”
  • Steering of the innovation pipeline for the food sector including R&D budgets and CREAVIS programs
  • Training of the sales team about products and product strategies, supporting the sales team to close contracts, price negotiations and exchange with customers
  • Collection and structured analysis of market data such as market volume, market perspectives and developments, price developments
  • Analysis of the competitor landscape (Competitor Intelligence) and systematic collection and maintenance of the data
  • Monitoring regulatory developments and elaborating decision templates as a result of regulatory changes
  • Identification of new business areas, development of business cases
  • Support the Product Line head with strategic plans and business decisions


  • Successfully completed studies in natural sciences (chemistry, physics), engineering, or business administration
  • Several years of experience in a business development, Key account management or sales role
  • Experience in the food supplement or over-the-counter (OTC) health products business
  • Experience in accelerating a start-up growth with proven track record in growing a business
  • Ability to lead a multidisciplinary team and resources within a matrix structure
  • Understanding of both B2C and B2B business models is a plus
  • Very good spoken and written English skills
  • Very good communication and presentation skills with intercultural competence
  • Willingness to travel globally
