The Senior Process Engineer in Vancouver will focus on Nucleic Acid Delivery.  They will be responsible for providing engineering solutions for new process developments in complex parenteral products to support the development and addition of proprietary technologies in Drug Delivery for generic drugs to leverage the full potential of nucleic acids as a new therapeutic modality. 

 

As the Senior Process Engineer, your responsibilities and strategic focus will include:

  • Provide engineering solutions to the Drug Delivery Department for new process developments in the area of complex parenteral products.
  • Create relevant GMP-relevant supporting equipment documentation e.g., Design & Functional Specifications (DS & FS), Process Flow Diagrams (PFD), User Requirements Specifications (URS), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), and Technical Manuals
  • Effectively create, plan, coordinate, and execute engineering strategies for assigned projects starting from conceptual design and design experiments.
  • Research literature and engineering guidance documents published by ICH, FDA, EMA, Health Canada, ISPE, ASQ, etc. To maintain awareness of current best practices and regulations, recommend/propose new opportunities, and provide technical support to the development of Intellectual Property.

 

The following are the experience and skills needed to be a successful Senior Process Engineer MS in a relevant engineering field (preferably in Chemical Engineering) with experience in process development, process engineering, equipment design, and pilot plant operations.

  • Alternatively, MS in a relevant Biosciences field (Chemistry, Biochemistry) with experience in process development, process scale-up, equipment design, and pilot plant operations.
  • Five or more years of engineering experience in a highly regulated industry, preferably the pharmaceutical or medical device industry, emphasing new process development and design.
  • Knowledge of FDA, ISO, ICH, EMA, and Health Canada regulatory requirements and cGMP.
  • Knowledge and experience in the interpretation of GAMP, GEP, ISPE, and IEEE standards.
  • Knowledge of Project Management methodologies
  • Able to apply principles of Quality by Design
  • A good understanding and application of relevant scientific theories, principles, and methods
  • Familiarity or general working knowledge of other related technical fields and applications, and the capability to use and apply standard scientific procedures and techniques.
  • Proven ability to work on multiple activities in parallel and multi-faceted research studies or programs
