Our Blair, NE facility is expanding our E&I team and looking for a Maintenance Planner/Scheduler to join our team.  The Maintenance Planner/Scheduler supports the plant maintenance group’s function by developing job plans and advanced work schedules.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Review plant maintenance requests to formulate labor, material, special tools, job-specific safety precautions, equipment requirements, and prepared backlog. 
  • Develop a weekly schedule 
  • Analyze work and material requests for compliance with established Evonik standards and workflow 
  • Provides accurate estimates through the use of established time standards and job knowledge.  
  • Develop or support job plans task lists to ensure quality craftsmanship with high regard for employees’ safety and maintenance cost reduction.
  • Create job packages when necessary
  • Be the liaison for the Continuous Improvement process with plant engineers for feedback items that need engineering expertise. 
  • Proposes technical changes or Root Cause Analysis to engineers when necessary
  • Review completed work orders for actual vs. planned requirements and adjust maintenance plans as necessary to improve future planning accuracy.
  • Ensure stock request forms are filled out, new materials are created, and Bills-of-Materials are updated 
  • Continued involvement in the Safety Process and maintain a zero lost time injury performance. 
  • Analyze and plan Maintenance activities to ensure that costly re-work is avoided.
  • Participate in the training and development plans of the department. 
  • Assist in the development and support of technological advancements and efficiency improvement methods. 
  • Provide open, honest communication, both up and down the reporting structure. 
  • Actively participate in the plant quality process and ensure that craft, labor, equipment, and material cost estimates are available for all planned work. 
 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree or Industry related degree preferred  
  • 7-10 years’ experience Planning and scheduling maintenance or construction activities for a Plant facility
  • Experience reading construction drawings and generating construction sketches 
  • Problem solving, communication, and organization skills 
  • General computer skills, including standard Microsoft Office
  • Proficiency Maintenance Scheduling Tool, SAP preferred 
  • Strong understanding and knowledge of rotating equipment, including pumps, gearboxes, compressors, chillers, and cooling towers.
  • Leadership, team building, and negotiating skills
  • Good understanding of mechanical and instrument process equipment
  • The ability to work effectively under pressure
  • Knowledge of precision maintenance practices
  • Experience performing craftwork in a plant
