The holder of this position is responsible for all strategic marketing activities of the medical device solutions business segment within the PL HC-PH to support the overall growth ambition of the business segment. 
Responsibilities include leadership, direction and oversight related to the future medical device portfolio with respect to new product development, new application and technology areas and translation into new business opportunities for the business segment. The position also monitors products and general applications of competitors and observes market dynamics (of competitors, customers, suppliers, regulatory agencies etc).
Positioning the products and services in the global MD markets, define value propositions and related business models. Promote offerings to customers and the scientific community



  •     Monitor and capture new growth opportunities, biomaterials, technologies and solutions for value generation beyond the organic pipeline of current & new products, including in new markets or new applications. 
  •     Support the positioning of the Medical Device Solution Segment as a leading development partner for medical device companies on a global basis. 
  •     Support the global product manager in introducing new product and service offerings portfolio for the medical device solution segment to meet the growth targets.
  •     Support launches of new Medical Device service and products with respect to market positioning, value proposition, business plans and business models.
  •     Provide guidance to the global Health Care sales team related to strategic and business insight into medical device companies within their respective regions.
  •     Accompany global sales teams on strategic client visits to promote the medical device offerings.  
  •     Provide information on market trends for monthly reports including competitors, new products, technologies, market size and growth, regulatory trends etc.  
  •     Identify and participate in relevant conferences, technical seminars, trade shows, etc. to make new contacts and identify new development opportunities. 
  •     Maintain relations to medical thought-leaders, key opinion leaders and product champions to identify clinical needs and technical gaps
  •     Create position papers and presentations on future trends 
  •     Support identification and evaluation of potential acquisition targets.
  •     Support for the development of intellectual property Medical Device Solution Business Segment to support PL, BL and Segment activities. 
  •     They ensure that necessary internal and external guidelines, rules, laws, and directives within his/her field of responsibility are followed. This includes ISO 9001, ISO       14001, ISO 18001, and ICHQ7


  •     Masters or PhD - Scientific degree – Engineering/Polymer Science/Chemistry or MBA with a scientific bachelors degree.
  •     5+ years of experience with medical devices at MS level or less experience with PHD. 
  •     Good network in the medical device industry and in academia
  •     Able to manage complex and interdisciplinary projects
  •     Good communication skills
  •     Presentation skills, able to convince management and stakeholders.
  •     Good track record with development of new products/implementation of new products.
  •     Some sales/business development experience would be beneficial.
  •     Product development experience and successful product launches would be preferred. 
  •     Management experience preferred. 
  •     Good understanding of GMP/Medical device regulations (ISO 13485) preferred.
