This position is responsible for the product management of the Biomaterials buisness at the Birmingham Site (BHM) related to the product and service portfolio (RESOMER® and RESOMER® Select) that serves Controlled Release (CR), Medical Device (MD) and Contract Manufacturing (CMO) market segments. The BPM is the site representative for BMA buisness at BHM.

The BPM ensures that business strategies are implemented and customer requirements are fulfilled by working with customers, Sales and Marketing Teams, Product Line management and all BHM service groups as well as Business Line Health Care service groups when applicable, and monitors success. Responsibilities also include review and approving the commercial aspects of BHM technical proposals, prioritizing supply and demand planning with BHM Supply Chain Management, business analysis, and product pricing in alignment with the global product management.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serves as the BHM site representative for the Product Line BMA working with BHM service groups to ensure customer fulfillment is realized.
  • Responsible for operative decisions on pricing, customer strategy for the assigned BMA products and services at BHM in alignment with the global product management.
  • Member of the BMA PrioTeam. Reviews commercial terms of BHM-related business proposals and ensures pricing is consistent with BMA’s pricing strategy.
  • Monitors customer activities related to BHM supplied products and services to ensure customers receive answers to questions in a timely manner. Supports the Sales team in price negotiations and customer communications.
  • Accompany Sales on client site visits to promote BMA products and to communicate Evonik’s broad technical capabilities.
  • Participates in negotiation of supply and quality agreements.
  • Establishes, monitors and communicates site-related BMA KPI’s.
  • Implements mid/long-term business plans into daily business activities.
  • Identify and participate in relevant conferences, trade meetings, etc. to make new contacts and identify new business opportunities.
  • Analyze market information for reports including competing products, technologies and companies, market size, growth, profitability, product specifications, sales leads, and customer needs.
  • Follow SOP’s, cGMP, and GLP regulations and procedures; generate and maintain thorough and accurate documentation in support of SOP, cGMP, and GLP regulated activities.
 

REQUIREMENTS

  • BS degree in business, chemistry, polymer science or related field and 2 to 5+ years of experience in product management/customer service, or other experience with a sufficiently demonstrated level of performance and capability, as determined by management.
  • The ability to travel in support of marketing aspects of business development.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact and communicate corporate capabilities with clients and management.
