The Account Manager is responsible for executing the commercial and strategic objectives of the Comfort & Insulation Business line.   The major focus of this position is to translate current & future sales opportunities into a sustainable and profitable business.   This position requires strategic interaction with Marketing, ADTS and Business Operations.
 

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Present, promote and sell products/services using solid arguments to existing and prospective customers
  • Perform cost-benefit and needs analysis of existing/potential customers to meet their needs (Value Selling)
  • Establish, develop and maintain positive business and customer relationships and continue to be the primary point of contact and build long-term relationships.
  • Coordinate sales effort with team members
  • Achieve agreed upon sales targets and outcomes within schedule
  • Clearly communicate the progress of monthly/quarterly initiatives to internal and external stakeholders
  • Successfully defend existing business shares at key customers from industry competitors utilizing business approved responses.
  • Collect and report details regarding competitive product offerings (price, performance, chemical composition, etc.) to the overall team
  • Develop key account strategies to increase business share, pricing and profitability at assigned customers
  • Analyze the territory/market’s potential, track sales and status reports
  • Supply management with reports on customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities, and potential for new products and services.
  • Keep abreast of best practices and promotional trends
  • Expedite the resolution of customer problems and complaints to maximize satisfaction
  • Update job knowledge by participating in training opportunities (internal & external); reading professional publications (build knowledge base); maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations
  • Enhance department and organization’s reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to the organization
 

REQUIREMENTS

  • BS/BA degree, preferred field of studies; Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Business
  • 5+ years of sales experience, preferably as a chemical or speciality chemical sales representative or account manager.  Experience in the polyurethane market an asset
  • Highly motivated and target driven with a proven track record in sales
  • Excellent selling, communication and negotiation skills
  • Strong prioritization, time management and organizational skills
  • Relationship management skills and openness to feedback
  • Ability to technically sell value added products
  • Strong team player, must be able to work in cross functional & multinational
  • Ability to perform Business related travel up to 50 - 70% of the time
